Church-affiliated science fund under the patronage of the Archbishop of Vienna, named after Cardinal Theodor Innitzer. Awards annual prizes to outstanding early-career researchers across all disciplines — psychology is explicitly named in the submission rules — plus recognition prizes and the Grand Cardinal Innitzer Prize for lifetime achievement. More than 600 researchers have been supported since its foundation; selection follows purely scientific criteria, regardless of religious affiliation.

Annual science prize for outstanding work by younger researchers (as a rule up to age 40) whose scientific significance is equivalent to a habilitation thesis. The humanities category explicitly names psychology; further categories cover theology, social and economic sciences, law, medicine, and natural sciences and engineering. The work must have been completed, with its review procedure concluded, within the three years before submission. Applicants should be Austrian citizens; work by foreign nationals is accepted if they permanently work at a scientific institution in Austria. Awarded in autumn by the Archbishop of Vienna.
