Four categories: “humanities (philosophy, education, psychology, history…), social and economic sciences, law, human and veterinary medicine” (close translation — the page is German only).
Annual science prize for outstanding work by younger researchers (as a rule up to age 40) whose scientific significance is equivalent to a habilitation thesis. The humanities category explicitly names psychology; further categories cover theology, social and economic sciences, law, medicine, and natural sciences and engineering. The work must have been completed, with its review procedure concluded, within the three years before submission. Applicants should be Austrian citizens; work by foreign nationals is accepted if they permanently work at a scientific institution in Austria. Awarded in autumn by the Archbishop of Vienna.
