MSCA Doctoral Networks
ERC
All disciplines
Doctoral programmes implemented by partnerships of universities, research institutions and infrastructures, businesses including SMEs and other socio-economic actors from different countries across Europe and beyond, to train highly skilled doctoral candidates and expose them to both the academic and the non-academic sectors. Besides standard Doctoral Networks there are Industrial Doctorates, jointly supervised by academic and non-academic partners, and Joint Doctorates leading to a joint or multiple doctoral degrees. Applicants are consortia of at least three independent legal entities, each established in a different EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country and at least one of them in an EU Member State; organisations from any country in the world can join on top of that minimum. All areas of research may be funded, a network can last up to 4 years (5 for Joint Doctorate projects), and each fellowship runs between 3 and 36 months (3 to 48 months for Joint Doctorate fellowships). The EU pays a living allowance, a mobility allowance and, where applicable, family, long-term leave and special needs allowances, plus research, training and networking activities and management and indirect costs. Recruited researchers must not have a doctoral degree at the date of their recruitment, can be of any nationality, and must comply with the mobility rule.
