The Austrian Research Association supports scholarly communication across all disciplines: travel grants for conference attendance and research stays (the "International Communication" programme), printing subsidies for scholarly works, plus prizes and events such as the Austrian Science Day.

International Communication New

ÖFG travel-funding programme, open to all disciplines including psychology. It supports: presenting new research findings at international conferences abroad, small international symposia/workshops in Austria, short-term research stays at institutions abroad (max. 3 months), and inviting foreign researchers. The travel lines are aimed primarily at early-career researchers up to age 40 (3 years credited per child for care time, up to 3 years for illness/disability); at least one peer-reviewed international publication is required. Congress fees, travel and hotel costs are covered; only one substantial grant per person and year.

Printing Subsidies New

Subsidy for publishing scholarly works from all fields of research, including psychology. Eligible are works of high scholarly quality that are as yet unpublished, contain new research findings, and would otherwise not appear or only at unreasonable personal cost; aimed primarily at not-yet-established researchers. Awarded by the Scientific Advisory Board after independent peer review, with three committee meetings per year; a maximum of €12,000 is available per meeting, up to €2,000 per work. Open to Austrian citizens and researchers working primarily in Austria.

Target group: Primarily not-yet-established researchers; Austrian citizens or researchers working mainly in Austria
