RTI Programme 1 "Strengthening RTI Competencies and Structure" New

Provincial funding programme for Salzburg universities and non-university research institutions: competence building, research structures and human resources along the WISS 2030 themes. Programme line 1 "Forschung hebt ab" funds impulse projects, RTI projects and research centres; line 2 "Forschung vor den Vorhang" funds knowledge transfer, scientific conferences and publications; line 3 "Forscher:in im Fokus" is under development. Note: since 12 May 2025 no new applications are being accepted due to exhausted funds; existing base funding and co-financing continue.

Thematic Calls (WISS 2030) New

Under WISS 2030 the Province of Salzburg periodically issues thematic funding calls for researchers at Salzburg universities and non-university research institutions. Most recently "KI-Forschung Salzburg 2025" for interdisciplinary projects at the interface of basic and applied research – the four funded projects include education- and society-related topics. A call on a WISS priority topic with a strong business focus was announced for autumn/winter 2025 (cooperation projects between research institutions and Salzburg businesses, starting 2026).
