Stipends of the province of Upper Austria for cultural-studies and humanities research projects whose content primarily concerns Upper Austria (at least 50%; a merely personal connection is not sufficient). Natural-science projects are not supported. A maximum of 2 stipends per year and 1 per person per year are awarded; the project must aim at publicly accessible results, be completable within 2 years, and be affiliated with a recognised scientific institution. Suitable for psychological research only if it takes a humanities/cultural-studies approach and has Upper Austria as its subject.

Project funding of the province of Upper Austria for cultural-studies and humanities projects whose content primarily concerns Upper Austria (at least 50%). Eligible costs include project costs and pro-rata personnel and overhead costs; natural-science projects are excluded. The project must aim at concrete, publicly accessible results (e.g. publications, exhibitions, lectures in Upper Austria). Relevant for psychology if the project takes a humanities/cultural-studies approach and deals with Upper Austria.

Printing-cost subsidy of the province of Upper Austria for cultural-studies and humanities publications whose content primarily concerns Upper Austria (at least 50% of the text). Eligible are the technical production costs (typesetting, graphics, printing, layout, copy-editing, image costs), but not editorial work or travel costs. The publication must appear in a relevant print run and be accessible to a broad audience; applications must be filed before printing.

Funding of the province of Upper Austria for the annual programmes of Upper Austrian associations and institutions active in science or research with a humanities/cultural-studies orientation. Eligible are the scholarly cost shares of the programmes plus pro-rata personnel and overhead costs; requirements are a location in or thematic focus on Upper Austria, programme presence in Upper Austria, and publicly accessible results. Natural-science programmes are not supported.

Provincial programme (running 1 Jan 2022 – 31 Dec 2029) for developing and expanding future-oriented research fields at Upper Austrian non-university research institutions. Eligible are FFG-listed non-university institutions without university status and not COMET centres, with a durable public-benefit orientation and a ban on profit distribution. Support takes the form of non-repayable grants; the aim is a positive impact on Upper Austria as a research and business location. Not restricted to particular disciplines, but in practice oriented towards innovation and regional competitiveness.
